Welcome Spring

Welcome SpringEvery year I try to do one thing that encompasses my entire immediate family. Usually, I host a party where the kids can bring their spouses with the grandchildren. Last year, my nephew came to town for the first time. We fellowshipped around his visit. There is always a theme when we come together. This year we welcome spring by going to the circus.

Going to the circus is a great way to bring in a new season. My older grandchildren have been to the Universoul Circus. My newbies are toddlers ages one and two, have not.  With new protocols in place, we are all interested to see how the Universoul Circus has changed. I was hoping that the show would exhibit the same excitement as in years past. To welcome spring with this outing did not disappoint. The older grandchildren were still amazed and the newbies watched intensely.

Highlight

The best part for my entire crew was the aerial cylinder acrobats and the motorcycle stuntmen. The two little ones were intrigued by the animals. One of my newbies knits her eyebrows as she was trying to figure out seeing a camel for the first time. She did signal with a sharply pointed index figure when the horses came out. We enjoyed seeing the few animals that participated. None of the animals were in the center ring for more than 2 minutes at a time. The circus is a great way to welcome spring.

Lowlight

We as a family had one issue with the entire production. There were not enough clowns. In years past, Universoul Circus had one clown for each section of the big top. This year they had three clowns in total. The clowns had an area where families could bring their children to get photographed, but the line was too long. The intermission was too short. My grandchildren didn’t get an opportunity to take a picture with the clowns. The important thing was spending the afternoon together at the circus. We did enjoy everything available for us to consume.  All of my children young and old enjoyed themselves and we will be back as guests next season.
