There are many ways to create awareness about your product or service. Several options are free of charge. You can build your brand and generate awareness through social media. Engaging every day, sometimes three or four times daily, takes effort. You can do giveaways of your product or service on a trial basis. Finally, you can participate in paid promotional ads. I’ve started doing small sponsorships. It can be another paid way to create awareness for your business. Sponsorships consist of you paying a portion of a company’s cost to host an event. It can also mean covering the cost of tickets to any event. I try to participate in one sponsorship per year when an opportunity presents itself. The sponsorship has to align with how you want your brand to be represented. The expense is charged to your marketing and promotion budget. It is another way to create Awareness.
Two years ago, I ran a tell me a story contest. There was no word limit. The story needed to explain why the individual should get free tickets to an adult prom. I sponsored a couple to attend. In return, I received entry, dinner, the attention of all the participants, and a heartfelt thanks from the contest winner.
This past weekend, a radio station out of Virginia was hosting an event in my area. I chose to participate in a small sponsorship package that helped to produce the concert. The artists who performed were incredible. Everyone appreciated the time and effort to ensure a fantastic evening of entertainment. In return, I received my logo on the backdrop banner, entry tickets for the show, and an interview that will be aired on a syndicate television station soon. Sponsorships are another way to create Awareness, and I take advantage of them when possible.
It can take a little while to get a return on the investment, but the reward is much greater than the next sale. The opportunity to connect with people and find your next fan is exponential. Sponsorships are another way to create Awareness.
